Updates on the fire outbreak at Mokola Market.
As a quick reminder, the most authoritative news website AfricaReportage.com earlier today reported to you from the Greater Accra Region the incident that occurred at the Makola market.
The market had caught fire for over three hours and there hadn’t been any solution to the problem since the National Fire Service Management responsible for solving fire outbreak challenges.
According to some residents, the inferno started around 9:00 am on Monday, July 5, 2021, in one of the shops in the building near the Makola Market Complex and spread to other structures.
Fire service found it difficult to douse flames as their pressure pipes couldn’t reach the topmost part of the three-storrey building.
The building, known as Hong Kong, opposite the Makola Shopping Mall Complex, comprises shops occupied by traders who deal in hair and cosmetic products.
Some witnesses said, when the fire started, they called on the fire service station that is situated a few meters away but they couldn’t get to the location on time and have resorted to this.
As I speak with you, the National Fire Service has gotten onto the topmost part of the three-storrey building to see how best they can the disaster to an end.
