The prosecution will change the accusations and facts against Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, the leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministries International, and the four others.
On Monday, September 20, the prosecution informed the Accra Circuit Court, where the case is being heard.
According to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Police Chief Inspector Simon Terkpetey requested that the Accra Circuit Court grant the police a week to complete the change.
Mr Gary Nimako Marfo, the accused’s lawyer, asked the court to postpone the case till October 25 because the accused was out on bail.
Mrs Afia Owusuaa Appiah, the presiding judge, said the length of the adjournment would be determined by the business of the next session.
The court ruled that the October 25 deadline was too long since the prosecution wanted to alter the charges and fact sheet.
“We will have to take a shorter date,” it added, because the accused persons’ pleas had to be retaken.
As a result, the case was postponed until October 5, 2021.
