Police personnel who was deployed to man checkpoints at vantage points found dead in James Town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
According to report, the young Police Officer, Constable Emmanuel Osei was shot dead in a cash van in the middle of a robbery at Adendenkpo near Korle Bu, James Town.
He was found in a pool of blood at the front seat whiles the body of one Afuah Badu, a trader was also found in a wooden structure lying dead suspected to be shot by the armed robbers for blowing alarm.
The two bodies have been conveyed to the Police hospital for autopsy by the Ghana Police Service.
However, Ghanaians have started asking the government of Ghana and the Ghana Police Service questions as to why police officers are not given short guns/pistol when put in these bullion vans.
Armed robbers keep killing these police officers because their AK47 makes it difficult to aim and fire back from the bullion vans.
We are doing nothing about it and we are not learning as a country, get these officers some bulletproof vest to protect themselves in case of emergency.
Finally, I personally suggest that the cry to fix the country should be a national one which is motivated by being a citizen and not a spectator, devoid of politics.
