When you go on your knees, pray to God to grant you just ‘half’ of the humility he has blessed this man with. I experienced his humility yesterday and I was amazed. So this was what happened; one student leader reached out to me if I could help them get to TT for a program on their campus. I promised the young man I was in a position to assist but cannot guarantee if he would agree to grace the program.
I called one of my former school mates who works with TT. He directed me on what the students should do. The students did exactly what I asked them to do. My friend then called to say -“Amos, call the old man… He’s expecting your call. I told him you recommended the guys and he said he has heard about you so he asked that I tell you to call him.”
I was busy when my friend called so I decided to finish what I was doing before I call the ‘old man’. For whatever reason, it escaped me to call him. Two days after, ie yesterday, my friend sent a message – “Amos, I was with the old man awhile ago and he said you’ve not called. Please call him, he’s expecting your call.”
I apologized for not calling as we agreed. Hurriedly, I called TT but he couldn’t answer. Few minutes later, he called back. Immediately I answered, he mentioned my name and said he was expecting my call. Whatever transpired on the phone is a subject for discussion another day. What I can, however, share with my readers is that, Lawyer Tsatsu is a different creature on Earth. I was amazed and wowed by TT’s humility. I pray to God to grant me that humility.
The young man or woman reading this post, please treat people with respect. The privileged position you occupy today should not eat into your head to lookdown on others.
