Story by Kwabena Yeboah.
The question has been, does Hopeson Yawvi Adorye have a personal grudge with the greater Accra regional Chairman Divine Agorhom of the new patriotic party ( NPP)?
One of the fire brand communicators in the New Patriotic Party, Hopeson Yawvi Adorye name has been removed from the MMDCE race based on his temperament allegations.
He is someone many people believe that he could break Jin’s in Kpone Katamanso consituency where the National Democratic Congress have dominated for the pass 28 years, but he was unable to win the parlimentary seat for his party.
Many people remember him very well at his campaign launch in 2020 prior to the elections, the massive crowd he pulled, where all the National Executives of his party were present at the campaign launch.
There has been a little misunderstanding between him and the current municipal chief executive of Kpone Katamanso consituency, Solomon Appiah after the 2020 general elections.
He made a serious allegation against Solomon Appiah; the Municipal Cheif Executive (MCE) that he interfered in his campaign unduely by not supporting him to win the parlimentary seat.
The municipal chief executive (MCE), also came out with his side of the story alleging that Hopeson Yawvi Adorye brought disunity into the consituency by ignoring the real party faithfuls in his campaign.
There was even a police case between the two of them, where the municipal cheif executive (MCE) made a formal complaint against Hopeson Yawvi Adorye that he threatened to kill him.
It looks obvious that so far as his name was part of those who are contesting for the Municipal Chief Executive position in Kpone Katamanso consituency, definitely he will be given that appointment.
Looking at the kind of opposition he gave to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Joe Tee, it was a hot contest.
Last week there were unconfirmed news that broke out, alleging that the greater Accra regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Divine Agorhom had taken out his name from those canvassing to become the next Municipal cheif executive (MCE) in Kpone Katamanso municipality.
Again, it was alleged that the greater Accra regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Divine Agorhom said Hopeson Yawvi Adorye had a bad temperament to be Municipal cheif executive (MCE).
Some members of the New Patriotic Party who heard this news says that if what came out was true, and that is why Hopeson Yawvi Adorye was disqualified after the vetting, then the party leadership had not been fair to him.
This is because there is character deficiency in humanity, so disqualifying him not based on corruption, nefarious and criminal activities, then they suspect something fishy in his disqualication.
There are a lot of people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in key positions, who have character problems than Hopeson Yawvi Adorye, yet they have gotten positions in president Nana Akufo Addo’s administration to serve.
Kwabena Yeboah who is the founder and leader of Speak Your Mind Movement said he will only agree with the vetting committee members who disqualified Hopeson Yawvi Adorye on the basis of competency.
“I will plead with all those who have been disqualified from the MMDCE race, not to cry foul to say something unpleasant against their party.
Those who are still in the race and might not get the nod to be appointed as the next MMDCE, shouldn’t gangup to be disloyal to their party.
The lucky one’s who will be appointed to become the next MMDCE should work hard to substain their party in power”.
