The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has today Friday, August 20th, 2021 cautioned salary workers in this country on the present scams targeting them.
Recently, the Economic and Organised Crime Office said it had received a variety of complaints from salaried workers, who had fallen victims to those scammers.
According to EOCO’s press statement issued today Friday, August 20th, 2021, these scammers were attempting to require advantage of individuals who could also be struggling to urge money.
These scammers called and sent text messages promising loans at affordable rates and promising to teach individuals to secure loans for a fee, properties, and vehicles.
The statement still says that these scammers called and persuaded salaried workers to secure loans or propose to help them to secure loans with low interest to expand their businesses.
It said this was wiped out the hope of retrieving their locked-up funds at the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.
We are urging all Ghanaians to be very careful with their checking account details and never show them to any third party.
