A Christian Apologist, Apostle Kofi Manu has refute the claim of the Catholic Church circulating on social media that Christians and Muslims do worship same God.
As a reminder, Catholic Archdiocese of Accra sent warm felicitations to the National Chief Imam His Eminence Sheikh Osman Sharubutu on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
A message posted on its official Facebook page sought to indicate that the two sides serve one God, are one people and underscored the need for peace.
This comes days after the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) backed the decision by the Methodist Church Ghana on fasting in Mission schools especially Wesley Girls Senior High School.
According to Kofi Manu, in as much as we all pray and preach for peace and unity among the religious group, it is equally important to defend the sacred Faith of each religious group.
Christians and Muslims do not worship same God because the God of the Bible is completely different from the God of
Quran. Therefore, it is of necessity to appreciate the difference and respect it as such.
According to him, it is clearly stated in the Qur’an 112:3 that the Allah begets not but the God of Christians begets Jesus without a wife.
The Christian God has His Earthly Kingdom at Jerusalem but Allah has His at Mecca.
Finally, the Christian God is One in three form (Father, Son and the Spirit). However, the God of the Quran is One and have no Partner or Partners.
Therefore, for the Catholic Church to say that Christians and Muslims do worship same God is contrary to both the teachings of the Bible and the Qur’an.
God Almighty gives us understanding.
