On Tuesday 24th August 2021, The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North constituency Hon. James Gyakye Quayson met the Ghana Association of Beauticians and Cooperative Association of Ghana, Assin North branch as part of his visit to the constituency.
The Hon. MP was accompanied by the NDC constituency executives to the meeting today which was held at the Roman Catholic Youth Center (Assin Bereku).
The meeting with the associations seems to give a clear road map to improvements as far as artwork is concerned. At the meeting, the leadership for the two associations outlined their challenges to the Hon. Member of Parliament.
Some of the challenges raised by the leadership were,
i. the unavailability of equipment for the apprentice.
ii. the inability of payment of exams fees by an apprentice.
iii. unavailability of equipment for apprentices to work after graduation.
After these concerns were raised by the leadership of the associations, the member of Parliament Hon. James Gyakye Quayson pledged to take care of all their concerns and challenges.
He said he will make sure that every master/mistress will have at least five(5) apprentices under his or her watch with the necessary equipment needed for the apprenticeship.
He further promised to give all the apprentices a sewing machine each, pay for their exams fees and also give them (apprentice) sewing machines and other equipment after their graduation to be able to make ends meet and not be a liability on the family and society as a whole.
The leadership of the associations thanked and expressed their profound gratitude to the Hon. MP James Gyakye Quayson for honoring their invitation and also pledging some wonderful interventions that will go a long way to serve the association and the community.
He further advised some of the apprentices present to utilize this opportunity as promised by the Hon. MP when it is materialized.
He said it will be prudent for the Hon. MP to do more for the association when they make good use of the opportunity and also promised Hon. James Gyakye Quayson that, the leadership will make sure that the equipment that will be provided as pledged by the MP would be protected and distributed with due diligence.
