Pru East District Assembly Members of the Bono East Region have rejected Joshua Kwaku Abronkrah’s nomination for District Chief Executive (DCE).
Out of the 23 votes cast, Joshua Kwaku Abronkrah received ten.
In the Bono East Region, he is the first District Chief Executives nominee to be rejected in the ongoing confirmation process.
During President Akufo-Addo’s first term, Joshua Kwaku Abronkrah was the DCE for the Pru East District.
Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, the Deputy Local Government Minister, has explained some of the circumstances that make it difficult for some of the nominees to pass the clearance process.
“A large number of MMDCEs will be approved. We should also consider the fact that our opponents (opposition party) nominate some assemblies, which can sometimes obstruct the smooth running of things, and sometimes they come out to truly support nominees,” he stated.
