The Ghana Police Service has detained four officers for unprofessional behaviour after they allegedly assaulted some people on September 21, 2021 in Tamale, Northern Region.
The four policemen from the Northern Regional Police Command were tasked with assisting NEDCO/VRA officials in the arrest of individuals suspected of making illicit power connections.
According to a police press release, the officers will face a Service Inquiry, which will be conducted in accordance with Ghana Police Service standards.
“The process of identifying the victims has begun in order to provide the appropriate medical examinations and assistance. We sincerely apologize to anyone who have been harmed and to the wider public “According to the press release.
During an interrogation, a police officer was seen flogging a man on the head and body in a viral video that precedes the Police statement.
