At the Juabeng Government Hospital, nine patients who were injured in the explosion are still being treated.
Three people have been reported deceased following an explosion at the Juaben Oil Mills in the Ashanti Region’s Juaben Municipal Assembly.
According to the report, four of the nine people who suffered critical injuries were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Two of the victims were identified as Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology students (KNUST).
Jonathan Ofori, Asaase News’ Ashanti regional correspondent, writes that the Juaben township has been placed in mourning.
The company’s officials believe the event on Tuesday (5 October) was caused by a mechanical malfunction in one of the facility’s boilers.
The Juaben Oil Mills have been shut down since then.
Meanwhile, the cause of the explosion is being investigated.
